Okay, I watched it
November 9th, 2005
I had to watch it. Everybody was talking about it. I saw the commercials. I hate all the stupid reality shows, but this one time, I had to see. Yup. Trading Spouses. The craziest of the crazy women.
I have no words to even describe her level of crazy. And the husband that had to deal with her? Next to Mac, he has to be the most patient man ever.
Crazy.
Oh, and…

This week’s Stargate SG-1: Aeryn Sun battles Daniel Jackson. Hmmmm…
Stargate Cast Announcement
December 21st, 2004
I’m probably really behind on this news because there have been some things that have taken higher priority, and rightfully so. The news that I did know for awhile: Stargate SG-1 was renewed for a 9th season even though this season (the 8th) was supposed to be the last. Negotiations with Richard Dean Anderson* are still on-going.
The news that I didn’t know: Ben Browder** has been confirmed as joining the cast for the 9th season.
Back to news that I did know: You can also look for Claudia Black*** appearing in an episode in the 8th season when episodes resume next year. In an interview about her appearance, she stated that she would be willing to make this a reoccuring character.
**John Crichton - Farscape
***Aeryn Sun - Farscape AKA ChernobylRed
What is that? Is that a bird? Is it a plane?
September 24th, 2004
I finally watched the season premier of Smallville. I wasn’t that impressed with last season, until the last episode said, “Okay b***h, *smack*, take that.” I was hoping for a different scenario for one of his powers we haven’t seen yet to come forth. I’ll say no more because I do not know who reads this and hasn’t watched it. I’m glad that one of the very few tv shows that I follow has started with new seasons.
I’m very, very, very exhausted today. Maybe I’m recovering from my small heart attack I had at work yesterday. The proposal wasn’t a complete out-of-the-blue surprise, but the proposal in a public LJ post was a complete out-of-the-blue, sweet, wonderful surprise. And thanks to all who have left comments, sent e-mail or called wishing their best. It is wonderful having the support of a good group of friends.
Tonight Mac and I, hopefully along with 0verdrive* are going to see Hero at 9:50pm. Joining in is welcome!

For the love of all that is wonderful, don’t do it!!!!! Just let it ail and die!!
MacGyver on SpikeTV
February 8th, 2004
For those of you who wander over here searching for MacGyver information, SpikeTV has picked up syndication rights and will start airing MacGyver twice a day at 10:00 am and 11:00 am CST. It starts on Monday, February 9th (yup, that’s tomorrow) starting with the Pilot and episode 2. Here is a upcoming schedule. I also do not know anything about the rumors that they are showing uncut MacGyver. This apparently comes from a rumor that they show uncut Star Trek. I wouldn’t know about that either.
I spent about two hours this morning* watching The Food Network. Why? Well, all the cooking shows were about chocolate. I guess this was a kick-off to Chocolate Obsession Week, which start tonight** at 7:00 pm CST. That’s one ingrediant that will get me to cook. Yum!
**Tonight as in Sunday. I’m just keeping myself straight. Haven’t gone to bed yet, so for me it isn’t another day even though it is.
The new Battlestar Galactica miniseries
December 4th, 2003
The new Battlestar Galactica miniseries starts next Monday on SciFi. When they first started airing commercials for this, what last Spring, they would show about a 5 second clip of a ship or a person and then just show the BattleStar Galactica logo. Those made me excited to see it. I was never a huge Battlestar Galactica fan, but I think I may like this. Then they started showing the commercials where the characters were saying stupid things and I found out the Cylons were all Victoria Secret models. I’m lackadaisically awaiting Monday, but I’ll TiVo it anyway–you never know*
Some more thoughts for the upcoming StuDayTM celebration:
You have chosen … wisely
December 3rd, 2003
I received my first StuDayTM gift today! Courtesy of Dave, I now own The Adventures of Indiana Jones DVD box set! I love Indiana Jones, and look forward to curling up on the sofa enjoying his adventures. Hmmm…he has nice adventures.
There is still about a week left before the StuDayTM celebration starts, so I thought I would leave a couple phrases to mull over for this grand occasion:

December 2nd, 2003
I went back to work today after having almost a week off. When I say time off, I really had it off. I didn’t work on anything related to my employment past Wednesday afternoon. I may even be done with working nights and weekends for awhile*. I got everything that needed to be done by the deadline done. The rest that needs to be done can be finished at a sane pace. Plus, we finally hired another person.
I did have the dryer break and ruin some laundry in the process, the tire rods on my car go out, a server blew a gasket**, my knee went through a glass window on my back door, the back on my computer chair broke and sent my head crashing into another window. Even with these mishaps, I do have things I can be thankful for:
1) Not only did my 20-ish year old dryer get replaced, we went ahead and replaced the 20-ish year old washer as well. Both are a little bigger, I have more settings, and a light in the dryer. My old dryer had a dark drum and no light, so I was always leaving something in it.
2) I purchased new clothes to replace those taken from me by the dryer. I also found another pair of monkey socks. That brings me up to 7 or 8 pairs.
3) Since I was going to be carless and on vacation, I had new tires installed, the radiator flushed, the oil changed, the rear brakes replaced, and battery stems neutralized in addition to my tire rod repair. I should be good for winter.
4) The harddrive survived and we have a spare server that could perform the duties of the prod server. Plus, now I have more incentive to upgrade my desktop and reuse the old components for the new prod server.
5) None of my encounters with windows resulted in needing stitches. Just broken glass and a headache.
Other than the above, it was uneventful and relaxing. After deciding to use MovableType for stuology instead of continuing programming it myself, I got quite a bit of it finished. Not that it will be that exciting, but I wanted to put at least a little bit of effort beyond just using the default templates.
I bought Pirates today, so instead of working I’m going to crash and watch it. Yummy Pirates ![]()
P.S. StuDayTM is almost upon us. You should begin planning your celebrations now. Take a day off of work or something.
**A gasket would be the part that isn’t functioning, but I didn’t do enought swapping to figure out what. I think it is the motherboard and not the CPU.
