Stuology

I’ve been making a few small changes on the site. One of them is using Feedburner for my post and comments feed. Right now it is messing up links inside my posts. I’ll investigate later. I’ve had a busy, although productive day, crossing off a bunch of little items off my todo list.

I took stuology down for a bit this evening to squeeze in some needed updates. I also changed the theme. It is not working completely, but my time these days seem to rarely be my own. I will have to leave it unfinished and tweak here and there as I find time.

Here is one of my resolutions:

• Get stuology running again

As you can see, I can cross that one off. I did get it up, and I put up the posts that I found back to 2000. I have the following to do still

• Put in posts missing in 2006
• Update all posts to add appropriate tags. I updated these posts from three different sources.
• Do my own template. I just picked the best one I could find for now.

Something I like: Time. I like having time. I can never get enough of it. I’ve had more recently, and I am actually making some progress on the new stuology. I could probably have it done by now if I wasn’t, oh what is it that some people like to call me? Yeah, I remember. If I wasn’t such a hard ass.

Okay, I am extremely picky and even after hours of nitpicking over the new stuology, I still won’t like it. That is my way. However, what I do need is some Macintosh people to help me test the layout. (Or I need someone to get me a G4 for my birthday. I don’t want the Kleenex ^TM* box though.)

Something I don’t like: Most people’s use of the word “as.” I can’t explain my irritation. I just believe that most people do not use the word correctly and it grates on my nerves. I keep meaning to double check this, but haven’t had enough of the previous thing that I do like.

*See, I’m pretty sure that Kleenex ^TM is trademarked. If it isn’t, I apologize. I just wanted to be safe. Although G4 may be trademarked as well. Oh well.

Okay, I’m getting there with my new version of stuology. My server has been updated, I’ve got my gui administration of my database working. Now I’m working on displaying and archiving all of these gems of profound insight, plus I’m serving up different pages for different browsers to make sure it works for all.
