Jay’s Christmas card photo. I couldn’t shoot this just in the dark, but I couldn’t use the strobe, even at the lowest power drown out the lights. What I ended up using was the modeling light in my AB800. I don’t have seamless paper, hence the floor wrinkles.
Jay’s Christmas session — Yeah, I saturated his blue eyes. I love them. This is a butterfly lighting set-up with a 5-in-1 and AB800 on I totally forget the power level. I’m going to start marking this stuff down now that I have a desktop in the studio now.
I was sitting on the floor in our bedroom, and pulled out my camera to get a framed shot in the door light. I gave him my lens cover to get him to hold still.
My first DIY softbox. I could only use a 150Watt bulb with the light I used, so I still had to shoot low light. I had him propped on the sofa with the light balanced on the arm. No fill.
