Neato prize inside!

March 1st, 2005

I just got home and turned on tv to Unwrapped on the Food Network. This episode is “Oldies but Goodies.” They are showing a guy with a candy collection with candy and packaging from as far back as the early 1900’s. The best package? Charleston Chew used to give away prizes, one of which was “A Real Live Monkey” complete with wardrobe. Wow! I wish they would have said what year or decade the package was made.

Monkey Cap Alert!

November 28th, 2004

Kohls has a fleece monkey stocking cap! Did I get it? No. My excuse is because it is brown and does not go with any coat that I own. Really, though, I have no excuse. I am pathetic for letting it stay at Kohls.

New Monkey Jammies!

October 13th, 2004

I left work a little early to head to my eye doctor’s office to get my glasses fixed and order new contacts. While I was on that side of town, I decided to look for some new work pants. I won’t get into the horrible time trying to find some that fit my short un-proportionate frame. I will get into the wonderfullness of finding some new monkey pjs*! They come with pants, a long sleeve top, and a camisole that says “No Monkey Business.” *Eeee*

*I would have picked up an extra pair for someone, but I wasn’t sure of the size, if they are already owned, and that person’s love of flannel. I got extra big ones because my last ones shrank a huge amount. If they don’t shrink, then I’ll grow into them soon.

Awwww…

Oh, so cute! I want one!

(Thanks MB!)

Finally, a monkey link!

March 10th, 2004

I’ve been short of monkey stuff given that this is “The Year Of.” Here is a link that I got from BEA: Monkey Cliff Diving.

AKA: Stutopia

February 16th, 2004

I haven’t posted any robot links in a long time, so here is one in today’s Penny Arcade strip.

I haven’t been doing very well with the monkey stuff for this grand Year of the Monkey. I was flipping through tv late Friday night, and caught some ninja monkeys which turned out to be an episode of Kim Possible. There apparently is a villian called Monkey Fist, and he has an army* of ninja monkeys, and why did I not know this until now? There is even a GBA game, Disney’s Kim Possible: Revenge of Monkey Fist. Good or bad, I have to have this based on principle alone. Wishlist has been updated accordingly.

*Well, I guess you would say an army of monkey soldiers. I don’t know what you would call a large supply of ninjas that will do your bidding. I guess you could still call it an army, but I would think it would have its own termonology. A ninja would be a specialized soldier though, yes? So, maybe army is just fine.

Happy 4701!

January 22nd, 2004

Happy New Year! For those who don’t know, today is the start of the year 4701 on the Chinese calendar. I’ve never mentioned or celebrated this in the past, but you see, this year is the Year of the Monkey! Some of you are aware, because I’ve been getting links to news stories of monkey events, a monkey New Year card, and even a couple of monkey figurines. If I wasn’t so busy at work and so tired at home, I would have tried to plan some sort of celebration. As it is, all I did today is wear a pair of monkey socks that I got from ChernobylRed. I think I’m going to take a personal day tomorrow so I can sleep in. Some celebrating, huh. The last time it was the Year of the Monkey, I was in highschool , and the next time it will happen, I will be old, so I need to make the most of this year*.

Omnis mutatio loci jucunda fiet

December 19th, 2003

Today was my first day of vacation, and I’ve spent the whole day shopping. Well, shopping and chopping (as noted in the picture to the left). I had my hair hacked off today*. I even donated my cut off hair to charity. It is 9:45 pm and I have one more place tonight to go for gifts before I leave tomorrow.

I also got a monkey calendar in the mail today! Thanks to the sender! Add that to my bag of monkeys and I came out pretty good this year for StuDayTM**.

*I really need to get a tripod and my remote working for my camera.
