Hot Fuzz

July 28th, 2007

Not as good as Shaun of the Dead, but it has its funny moments that make it worth watching the entire thing.

James rolls all the time. He isn’t crawling, but he does worm his way around. As soon as he figures out to use his arms, off he goes. He also can now say, “nyah-nyah-nyah-nyah-nyah-pbthhhhhhh.” He also had his very first taste of solid food–rice cereal. I’m not sure he has actually swallowed any. He either spits it out, or immediately puts his hand in his mouth and starts gnawing on his fingers, leaving them smeared with cereal.

Rock on, 1980s!

July 5th, 2007

  1. We are getting Rock Band. I don’t care how much it costs. Unless I’m unemployed. Then I care.
  2. Transformers was soooooooooooooooooo fantastic! OMG! It was just like the cartoon. I like to stay away from all reviews (even though I got sucked into one) and information about the movie aside from trailers. Optimus Prime was the voice of Optimus Prime! Hugo Weaving did a fine job doing Megatron, although Megatron didn’t have much of a role until the end of the movie. Starscream didn’t talk much either. The Transformers looked amazingly cool. It was a fun movie for someone who watched the cartoon in the 80s. We had good company for the movie, although we had to jet out of there as soon as it was over since we told the babysitter we would be home by 10:30. I can’t wait until this comes out on DVD.

Here is your Rock band video. You can see why it must be ours.

There was a cool YouTube video of developers playing Rock Band. Viacom cried copyright infringement and made YouTube take it down. That video did nothing but make me excited for the game. Shame on Viacom.

It is almost time!

July 3rd, 2007

It is almost time for the Transformers!!!! We have our tickets. We have our babysitter. I try to stay away from reviews, but they sucked me in using a cool Optimus Prime picture. It was a bad review.

I’m just now wrapping up my work day. Yesterday, it ended at almost 3:30am. I would love it if I could keep a regular schedule working at night and sleeping in until 10:00 - 11:00am. I still only get 8 hours of sleep, but I feel wonderful. I don’t feel tired and need to fuel my day with a slow, steady stream of coffee like when I have to get up at 6:00am. However, the business world doesn’t care if I’m a night person. And neither does James. He woke up a little before 6:00am for the 3:30am work shift.

My surgery was rescheduled for a few days later. However, I’ve only had a couple of episodes since my emergency room trip, so I’m fine with it. I just have to be careful what I eat.

*squeeeee*

June 30th, 2007

We have a babysitter from 5:30 - 10:00 on Tuesday, July 3rd. We are going to go out to eat somewhere, and then we are going to see Transformers at 7:30 here in Lawrence. I talked to some about seeing this, but since we are the ones that have a very limited window in which we get to watch due to babysitter constraints, we just decided on the time and got our tickets ourselves.

If anybody else wants to join us for what had better be the best movie ever*, let us know. Eating place has yet to be established.

*They are showing more bits of the movie, and I do have to admit that the dialog is disappointing me. I really, really, really want this to be the Best Movie Ever.

Back when I got my laptop, I was discouraged at the laptop bags that I was finding, so I went for a neoprene sleeve so I could buy any bag and throw my laptop in it. I still haven’t yet bought that bag because I haven’t needed to bring my laptop with me anywhere. I’m going to take it into work, so I’ve started looking for bags. Of course, now is when I find bags that I would like to have. Besides the fact that Mac will say it is out of my budget range, please tell me why I should not

I know which one Mac would vote for. Which one would you vote for*?

*If you are the type that would vote for the typical black laptop bag, you too boring to vote. Unless that black bag has magical powers. Or maybe a laser defense system. Or if it is a transformer**.

**I am so excited for The Transformers movie, I’m about to explode. I’m hoping we can find somebody to watch the kids so we can see it on July 3rd with friends.

It’s probably Japanese

Watch the Exclusive Trailer.

I feel like a kid, but I’m so excited for this movie. I haven’t been this excited for a movie in a long time.

Pan’s Labyrinth

May 22nd, 2007

We just watch Pan’s Labyrinth. It so beautifully sad. I love it. If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend that you do. It is also another soundtrack worth adding to my list.

More than meets the eye

Mac can make a counter-point if I am incorrect, but I don’t think we
have gone out to see a movie since we watched Borat in early November.
I’m missing some good ones, too, I know.

However, the one that I do not want to miss is The Transformers. Please, oh please, oh please, do not suck.

My
co-worker just sent me the full theatrical trailer for it. I will watch
it when I get home. It opens July 4th (unless that has changed since I
last looked). We will be back from the lake by then.
