Look what is coming out–just in time for a certain early December celebration.

Mac and I also decided what we are going to do for our annivesary. We are going to celebrate by going to Dave and Buster’s, which opens in November. That is if we can find an overnight babysitter because we want to just stay the night out there. There are a few hotels out at the Speedway. We had talked about staying at Chateau Avalon again, but decided it wasn’t worth it if we were spending most of the night at D&B. All you want to do at CA is stay in your room.

It is finally mine!

Okay, not that big of a deal. I picked up the 26th Anniversary, widescreen edition of The Jerk. I’ve wanted that movie for like, forever, but didn’t want the poor quality full screen version. I also picked up Season One of the UK version of Battlestar Galactica*.

Tomorrow, Season One of The Muppet Show is released. Then I guess I need to quell my DVD buying until September for the next season of MacGyver and The Simpsons. My 400-disk DVD changer is now full**, so I’m going to have to decide what DVDs I want in the changer. Plus, Mac cringes everytime I spend money on a DVD. He says that I’m spending Ada’s college fund. Maybe she can just pay her own way through college like I did, er, am still doing.

*Which I believe has scenes that were deleted from the US airing.

**Besides the extended version of LOTR, none of the bonus disks are in the changer. They are in a green DVD case by the tv.

All filled up

June 22nd, 2005

So, I have all the DVDs (except for the missing ones) in the DVD player. Our DVDs are taking up 351 spaces. I have season two of MacGyver, season 4 of The Simpsons still to find and Season 7 of Buffy still to find. Plus, Season 3 of MacGyver comes out beginning of September, Season 6 of The Simpsons in August. I’m going to fill up the DVD player in no time. I still have Season 2 of Space Ghost to get. It is all these darn tv shows that’s hogging all the space. Oh, did I mention that The Muppet Show was being rereleased to DVD by season? This should include all of them instead of “the best of” that Time Life released. Season One of The Muppet Show comes out the beginning of August. I’m going to have to get another 400 disk DVD changer and start clustering them.

I do have to mention how fabulously wonderful it is to not have to get up, pick through the cabinet for a DVD, search for the case for the DVD already in the player and so on just to watch one. The worst of it now is finding which slot the movie is in.

Oh, I have all my dvds databased with information about them being pulled from IMDB.

The new laptop from Alienware should be delievered tomorrow. Hopefully I will get sleep tonight so that I can get up and around to head to the law office to pick it up. Law office readers, let me or Mac know when it gets in so I can come and get my new toy!

Add to the missing

Buffy The Vampire Slayer - Season 3 and Season 7
Stargate SG-1 - Season 5 and Season 6

I have another box of DVDs packed up still somewhere, methinks.

And Now Playing…

June 19th, 2005

For Father’s Day, Ada got Mac a 400 disc DVD player. We have it almost filled up. It has freed up considerable shelf space, I can sort the DVDs by various options, you don’t have to get up to put in the movie you want to see and to quote Mac:

We are never going to watch all these DVDs. I’m married to a crazy woman*.

I put in the DVDs with a few “I didn’t know we had this” and “this one isn’t even opened yet.” The bad thing about this player is that it does not get the DVD information from all the disks. You can enter it manually. What a chore this is going to be. At least it has an input for a keyboard because selecting letters one at a time with the remote will take forever. We are going through the ones right now playing “Name the movie in the first 5 seconds.” I also realized that I’m missing the following:

The Simpson, Season 4
Indiana Jones movie box set
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind**
Spiderman
Raising Arizona

We also have a nice database for our DVDs that will allow me to publish all that we have online, and keep track of who borrows our DVDs. Now I know without digging through a cabinet what I have. It also let me realize what I don’t have yet.

After picking up this player and adding yet another remote to our collection of now 5 remotes it takes to watch tv at our house, I added a Sony 3100 Remote Commander to the Father’s Day booty. Now we can just misplace one remote, but I have a lot of programming to do to be able to pack away all of the remotes, especially the one for the new DVD player which has a ton of buttons for navigating and editing 400 DVDs.

The weekend is over. I like it when Mac is home. It is getting a little depressing being shut in the house during the week. I only have 6-weeks left though.

*See, most of this DVD collection belongs to me. And it is going to be added to soon with Season 2 of MacGyver.

**I think I remember who I loaned this one out to though. The others, no idea where they are located.

Hee-Hee!

MacGyver on my doorstep makes me happy!

Hmph!

January 25th, 2005

The excited post about the order shipment was for the copy of MacGyver that I ordered for a good friend of mine for Christmas. My copy that I ordered over a week earlier still hasn’t shipped and has an estimated date of February 3rd! I think the sick pregnant woman should get her copy first!

Since I’m taking a sick day today*, I could run to Best Buy and pick of a copy of Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow to make up for it. Of course, I’ll probably see the MacGyver DVDs there and get sad** :(

*This is a new record for me. Today I had a meeting, and in the past I would have just went to work tired, headachy and nauseated. Now that I’m pregnant, I have a “screw work, I need sleep” attitude.

**And maybe get in trouble for spending money on DVDs. Someone I live with thinks that maybe I spend too much money on DVDs. I’ve scaled back my spending a lot, but my wishlist is growing so big!

You Amazon Order Has Shipped

We got our copy of the extended ROTK, so now we can plan that LOTR party for wu_banga. Yeah!

Thanks to A and the lovely StuDayTM generosity, I have pre-ordered Season 1 of MacGyver on DVD! Wahoo for the end of January!
