I’m flying back to Kansas today. I’ve been saving up things to write about, especially my ghost tour which I don’t want to write too much about so I don’t spoil it for those who are going next weekend. All I can say is that I got to see a lot of transponders* and I felt like I was on some Saturday/Sunday afternoon Discovery channel show.
*A transponder is a term for any general piece of electrical equipment whose function is not exactly clear to me. So instead of saying “I got to see a lot of general pieces of electrical equipment whose function is not exactly clear to me,” I can say “I got to see a lot of transponders.”
This weekend was very relaxing. I started a new version of stuology (even though this one isn’t old, I really don’t like it much.)
Next week is going to be good because I’m on vacation. I will be spending my vacation on the east coast.
I was just too sick to go to work the other day, and spent the day at home. One of the things that I did was make brownies. I was getting along well until I had all of the batter in the pan. Only then did I realize what I had done. I actually did put all of the batter in the pan. I scrapped and scrapped to get any remaining remnants into that pan, leaving nothing in the bowl for me to eat.
This weekend is the first weekend in eternity that I have not had to work. I was making lunch when I decided that I needed to go and
buy a bread box today.
Those are only two of the clues that I am getting old.
On another note, I really want to redo this page. Even though this one is only a couple of months old. I still have tasteslikechicken.org and eatthebean.net to contend with. I have too many things that I want to do and not enough time to do them all.
Oh look! The back of my head is famous!
I remember the day that techies.com came in toting their freakin’ camera. They got a picture of me to use on their site. They also want a quote of why it is so great to work at PVI to go along with my picture. The only thing they forgot was *asking me if I wanted my picture* on their site.
Well, I made the guy from techies take my picture in front of my Roy Williams picture, hoping that they would have to pay obscene licensing fees to The University of Kansas.
Tonight I am going to celebrate not having to work this weekend for the first time in eons by consuming many beverages.
Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday, and guess what I’m doing? Working. Work is consuming my life.I have more thoughts on this work issue, but I’ve
been sick for over a week and just need to sleep because I have to go to work tomorrow.
My brother is having a baby. Well, I should say that his wife is having a baby. They are giving her my middle name. She will be born on December 19th–very close to my birthday. So very cool! Now we can go out every year and party
My spare time is being used to find Chris (my brother) and Cherise (his wife) a crib for Stephanie Lyn (my niece).
I recently got to see a video of the ultrasound. While my sister and mother were awing over her moving her eyes, I was thinking more about about how morbid it looked not seeing any eyelids. And when they went, “Oh look, she’s opening her mouth. Isn’t that cute!” I was thinking, “Blech, she’s opening her mouth. Doesn’t she know where she’s at?”
So, I really don’t have any motherly instincts. However, I do have plenty of auntly instincts. I will spoil her, turn her into a Jayhawk fan before she has the intellectual capabilities to object. When she starts making loud noises, or leaks foul smelling liquids, I will give her back to her parents.
I also updated my books section. The recent readings section are the books that I have read since I started this version of Stuology in August.
Why can I not make French toast? I love French toast, and mine always comes out horrible.
I had more to write on my theory of why I cannot make French toast, but I just found out one of my puppies died and now I’m too sad to do anything.
Just about everybody learns about opposites when they are young. You know: up-down,right-left, light-dark. When I learned it, never was anything called “Ying-Yang” was ever mentioned. After all, it was just opposites, not a philosophy. I really think that Ying-Yang can be applied to everything. For example, I was really craving junk food yesterday, so (I won’t bore with the story how I decided on this particular food) I got some Cracker JacksĀ®. I was excited to see what my prize was going to be, only to discover that there were not one but two prizes* inside! However, after eating I realized that I didn’t have a single peanut in the whole package! Those are the second best part! Yeah, I got two prizes, but at the sacrifice of my peanuts.
Well, maybe that’s not Ying-Yang. Karma, maybe? Whatever, I still feel ripped off.
*Plus, the prizes where stickers. No cheesy plastic ring. No tattoos that you apply with water. Really stupid stickers.
This weekend will be the first weekend I’ve had off in eons. It has been such a long time since I’ve had spare time that I’m not sure what I will do with myself. I have a billion things I want to do that I find it too overwhelming. So, I end up doing none of them. Some of them include: rearranging my living room, reading a book or two (but of course I can’t decide whether I want to read a book for my career or a book for pleasure), redoing this page, or digging into Director Studio 8.
Maybe when my brain is rested up I can actually put something highly creative and thought provoking in here. I just needed to add something to keep my biggest fan happy.
I just recently got digital cable. Today was the first time I actually had time to stop and watch it. I think I spent more time browsing through the interactive TV Guide than I did actually watching anything. So far my favorite new addition to my channel line-up is the Independent Film Channel and Discovery Science.
All you will find here are photos, my weekly menus and babblings about my children. I am trying out new themes as time allows. I don't think this one will work out well with my photos unless I make this a two-column layout.
