Inaugural ride
I took my bike out tonight. Finally! Yes, I’ve been that busy with other things to get to actually using my mother’s day present.
I went out to the Arboretum and rode the path out to Overlook and then back. I was riding for about an hour, enough time to test out the bike and shifting and such. The chain slipped once, but other than that, it rides okay. Although I feel like I need to buy one of those super padded saddles. Heh.
I can’t ride again until Friday. Tomorrow is Park Night, and Thursday is a friend’s birthday dinner. I’m looking forward to Friday though. I’m going to get the Garmin charged so I can keep track of distance. I also need to get a pack/saddle bag/something to carry my keys and my spare tube and tire kit. And riding out there is way less jarring than running out there.
I also drove the suvvy for the first time in over 2 months. I felt like a driving spaz. It drives waaaay different than my car.
My new conical burr grinder arrives tomorrow. Now I can try out my borrowed french press to see how I like it.
My last advice to Jay: I am not buying that you are a frog instead of my son. You should find a different way to sneak out of bed. Which I’m about to quit posting this so I can put you back in it.
