StuDay 2010
StuDay 2010 was pretty much like any other Saturday other than I got a couple of hours to watch some videos that I’ve been meaning to view, but haven’t found a peaceful moment to do so. I woke due to a huge crash and what sounded like someone or something banging at the back door of the deck. It turned out to be Mac trying to get firewood and the storm window falling out of the door. He almost was greeted this morning with a baseball bat.
I made breakfast for Jay and I, and then headed out to pick Ada up from her slumber party. Thankfully, I picked up an Ada that was in a good mood. We stopped back home to dump off her bag, and then headed out to tumbling class. Today was parent observation day, so we watched kids do tumbling for 2 hours. We headed out for lunch, and when we got home, I cleaned off the kitchen table and set the kids up with beads because they both wanted to make me a bracelet for my birthday*. Then I sat and watched my video in front of a fire while Mac and the kids picked up the house a bit. Then I prodded Ada into a bath, dried her hair, packed a bag, headed out to pick up a gift and dropped her off at yet another slumber party. After dinner, jammie change for the rest of the fam, and hot chocolate making, I’m now back by my fireplace.
I’m taking photos tomorrow for friends–the ones that have Ada over to sleep tonight. Their daughter’s birthday is tomorrow, so we’ll have a joint dinner/cake celebration then. Next weekend, we still plan on going out to a movie–after we get back from a birthday party that both the kids are going to.
Oh, and I splurged and bought myself a gift: a scarf and matching gloves. Not really a splurge with money, but definitely with space. The last thing I need is another scarf. I already have three bins in our coat closet just to store the ones that I already have. I love scarves, and when Ada and I went out, the wind chill was 4 degrees. That’s right, 4. Of course I bought another scarf. The wind is crazy, and it almost blew Ada over when leaving the store. The wind chill tonight is suppose to be 8-15 below zero.
*Ada’s was too small for my wrist, but I looped it through my key ring, and it is now as nice homemade keychain. Jay’s was too big, but that’s okay because he apparently was making it to give to his dad for my birthday, so I didn’t get it anyhow.
Happy birthday, Sister! Glad you had a good day! Love you!
Happy Birthday Mel! I am still planning on babysitting next week.
