Oh, hey there calves!

I just ran for 59:25. No, really.

I noticed that at the beginning, I have to keep my heart rate about 174, and then slowly it is able to go up and stay tolerable. In the middle/end of the run, I pushed my heart rate up to “gasp, can’t breath, chest hurts” level and keep it there for about 3 minutes. That was at 185-186. By the end of the run, I was able to keep it at 180-182 without painful breathing.

It wasn’t my intention to go for so long, I just hit that endorphin point–probably at the point where 180bpm felt great, where I knew I could just go and go, so I did. My body finally said, “Enough already! Dang!”

Now, I can feel my calves. Like wow, tight. I always do a cool down jog then walk for about 5 minutes to slowly acclimate myself to stopping. I stretched afterwards, but I can feel them again. I’m going to have my recovery drink, and then do a little more gentle stretches before I shower.
