Found a resource for my next Ada activity!

I started looking around the web while the Scooba mops my kitchen floor for me. I found a book by an author who not only has been practicing yoga for over 20 years, but has also been a pediatric OT for over 15 years: Integrated Yoga: Yoga with a Sensory Integrative Approach.

I need to get my hands on this book, and I’m glad that my wondering if this would be a good activity to help center and calm Ada wasn’t too far fetched.

I also reviewed the list of heavy work activities, and I’m glad that I changed directions with Ada’s dance classes for the fall session and enrolled her in tumbling. We went to open gym at the Lawrence Gymnastics Academy with the Lawrence Autism Society, and she loved it. Not that I won’t put her back in dance if she still wants to do it. I just thought I’d expose her to something else. I don’t want to over schedule her, or me for that matter, either. One class per session is enough.

And not to leave Jay out of it, he participated in our last pilates session too. He also loved the open gym experience as well. I enrolled him in tumbling in the fall. The nice thing is their classes are back to back and on Saturday, so I can go back to work and not be left scrambling to get them to class during the week. And my birthday is on Saturday this year because that’s the date of their last class. Which is something I will have to figure out with Ada’s current Wednesday’s dance class. I wouldn’t be back in time to get her there. I almost need a nanny rather than a daycare center.
