When Ada Gets Big

One of Ada’s favorite conversation topics is When I Get Big. I decided this morning that I need a record of these conversations. This is the one we had in the car ride this morning from Jay’s daycare over to her school.

When Ada gets big, she is going to:

• Own a house. It will be pink and have three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Her house number will be 8912^*.
• Have me over for dinner. I have to wait until she calls me on the phone. Then I have to drive over in my car. We’re having shrimp and strawberries.
• Have a daughter. Her name will be Addie. Addie’s teacher’s classroom will be downstairs. Addie will really like muffins.
• Also have a baby brother^**. His name is going to be Macada. He’s going to cry a lot.

*She tried to get Mac to buy her house numbers at Home Depot.

**AKA, a son
