Cauliflower and Leek soup

Apr 26th, 2010By: Comments 1

This was tonight’s soup. I’m looking forward to having this tomorrow for lunch.

It is based on a cauliflower and almond soup from Gourmet. My changes:

  • Added two more leeks
  • A tad more coriander
  • Whole milk from Iwig
  • Sweet almond oil mixed with the butter
  • A small lump of fresh chopped tarragon that I threw in the cooking stage with the coriander. Also, some fresh chopped tarragon that I added on top.
  • A couple shakes of cayenne at the very end

This smelled wonderful. And I really, really liked it.

Speaking of Iwig, I took a drive out there with the kids today. Ada was trying to convince me that chocolate milk comes from a cow’s butt. OMG, I needed to straighten that out. We went to the dairy farm, showed them what part of the cow the milk comes from, saw them bottling milk and pointed out the type of cows that produce chocolate milk. Hopefully, I cleared up that misconception. I exchanged our milk bottles and brought home more milk and cream and butter.

One Response so far.
