Summarization of Things That Have Happened
I haven’t felt like posting here lately. You can find me pretty active on Facebook. I find it easier to post a couple of lines of our day than sit and write. I’ll summarize some stuff:
Food
- I made a chipotle chicken salad that I loved using leftovers from the crab salad. I made my my favorite stir-fry with the leftovers from the chicken salad.
- I’ve changed my eating habits a tad, and that included not eating grains for breakfast. More on that later.
- I ate at the restaurant that took over Round Corner drugstore on Mass. Sorry, I don’t remember the name. Tasty, tasty, tasty tacos. OMG, tasty. I can’t wait to go back. For those of you who read this that are also not eating grains, aside from the shrimp taco I had which contained rice, there wasn’t anything in the taco you couldn’t eat that I remember. I don’t think they had any beans. The only thing you’d have to do is eat the insides with a fork. They are served in soft white corn tortillas, so it is easy to do, and recommended because the tortillas weren’t that great anyhow. I had steak and pork. Didn’t have fish, so I don’t remember what was in it.
- Mac is out of town, so this week, we are eating fish for dinner.
- I ate out so much this weekend that I didn’t cook my ribeye steaks. I made them today for lunch: pan seared garlic chili ribeye served with spinach and strawberries.
Children
- Ada has reached a couple of milestones: she can make her own lunch and buckle her own seat belt. She probably could have made her own lunch before now. I should say, she can make her own responsible lunch. She can get things out of the fridge and serve herself an appropriate portion of food. The only thing I have to watch out for is the Agave. She’ll eat half the bottle with her yogurt and fruit if I let her. If it requires cooking, I have to help, but she can help with most chopping.
- Jay doesn’t make his own lunch because I let him serve up his own yogurt, and he ended up with a big mountain in his bowl, leaving little left for anybody else. He still needs lunchtime assistance since he finds joy in just piling things in a bowl without regard to having to eat it.
- Ada is doing addition at school now. She’s working on the permutations that add up to 10. She says she likes putting numbers together to make bigger numbers. *Glee*
- This space is reserved for the other things they have done that I’m not remembering.
