Conversation With Ada

Ada: Mom, I have something to talk to you about.
Me: Okay, what is it.
Ada: Why don’t we get a haircut and then you measure the yard and make a call and have somebody come stay with us and then you leave us and go to the store and put the playhouse in the car and then call daddy and tell him to come back to our house and put the playhouse up in the yard. Does that sound like a great idea?
Me: It sounds likes a fabulous idea.
Ada: Yippee! Let’s get started!

Except we aren’t doing it. Right now anyhow. Ada wants one of those monstrous play yards that includes swings and a climbing wall and a slide and a playhouse and a picnic table. I told her we couldn’t get one because I’d have to measure the yard to see if we even have enough level space to put one up. However, I’d love to get one eventually because I’d lay a bunch of mulch under it. It would be less lawn for me to mow. Something I’m going to do right now.

Plus, we live within walking distance from a monstrous play area. One that is free. Well, sort of. I do pay taxes.
