Envy Me, Oh Childless Population
Jay has been coughing and producing great amounts of snot the past few days. Yesterday, I was helping snap his pants and he started coughing. Instead of ending his cough by just stopping, he ended his cough by puking all over me.
Then last night, Ada crawled in bed with us. I was only half sleeping because she kept tossing and turning and then wanting to go to the bathroom and then wanting to get a drink of water and then wanting to hug and so on. Thankfully, I was only half asleep. Ada started coughing when I heard the noise that snapped me fully awake which allowed me to jump out of bed just in time for her to projectile vomit everywhere. Mac was also lucky that she woke him up enough that he got up to go to the bathroom right before it happened. Our bed was not so lucky. It was quite a feat because there was only one pillow that did not have puke on it. And it smelled terrible. We stripped the entire bed, put on new sheets, got out a spare comforter, lit candles and incense to get rid of the smell, started laundry, called school to let them know that Ada would not be there and gave Ada a bath all starting at 2:00am. We settled to go back to go to sleep a little after 3:00am, but for awhile, anytime Ada coughed, I came out of my sleeping haze. She started acting like Ada again while she was in the bath and has been fine up until recently when she said she was hot, which was validated when her temp read at 100. That means no school tomorrow either.
At least Jay doesn’t have to be anywhere. I got to sleep in this morning and will get to tomorrow as well.
