Ada’s Story
Ada wanted me to read a story to her before bed. This is a bedtime ritual, but tonight, I decided to make up a story. After I was done, Ada wanted to do her story. It went like this:
Once upon a time there was a mommy kitty with [whiskers]* and long ears. She came to visit Ada puppy. Then [something] and she fell in the cat cave! She said, “Help me! Help me! I want out!” Then the teacher came and said, “I’m going to be the mailman.” Then [something about having cheese on Halloween or being cheese on Halloween]. The End.
I was convinced just before she said “The End” that she hadn’t developed her plot past the mommy cat falling in the cave.
*She didn’t say whiskers, but she made hand motions to denote whiskers.
