What’s Cooking Thursday
I’m actually making dinner tonight!
Chili rubbed pork tenderloin with the same rubbed roasted buttercup squash. I also roasted and pureed three more sugar pumpkins. I have three left. Fresh pureed pumpkin is way superior to canned, but I do have to admit that I’m getting a little tired of cutting up winter squash. I have a recipe that I want to try with acorn squash, but I’m going to give it a couple of weeks.
All upstairs trim is done. The bathroom is done except for the texture paint or faux paint that I’m going to use to cover up the wallpaper of doom wall, where you can tell every place the wallpaper would not come off, even with chemicals and even with sanding. I also have some trim in the kitchen to go over. The red walls really need a new coat, but wow, I’m so tired of this house disaster.
Jay and I have a head cold that we’ve been battling for the last two days. I did something to rehurt my ankle today, so I’ve been slow and limpy. I did manage to get four loads of laundry done and go through the kids’ shoes to pick out and clean non-fitting ones to give away. I also just sat around with Jay in the morning. He wanted to sit next to me and cuddle, and that is a rare event. I enjoyed it.
I’m going to go cut up dinner so we can eat, put away another load of laundry, and then replace another door knob or two before I relax the ankle for the evening.
