Been Caught Stealing Once
I just caught Jay trying to climb onto the counter top so he could get a bowl. He broke into the pantry and got out goldfish crackers and bran flakes because he is hungry. He is always hungry, but now he can stack and climb, so it is hard to keep him out of food. As soon as he was able to walk, he started stashing food places so he could eat at whim. I’d witness him go over to a pillow in the living room, pull out a half eaten sandwich, take a bite and then put the rest back. I’d have to scour the house for stashed food. I didn’t realize that it was a precursor to his current state. Perhaps it is a growth spurt that has caused this recent cycle of non-stop food desires? The boy has been consuming Costco sized quantities of food.
I realized tonight that I’m going to need a more aggressive savings plan in order to afford his puberty.
I also realized that I’m going to need a better lock on the pantry. This is the third time he’s managed to circumvent the lock. The last time was on Saturday when I found him sitting on the kitchen floor eating bran flakes out of a cake pan topper with 1/2 of the rest of the container of bran flakes scattered on the kitchen floor.
But he’s putting the appropriate food in containers so you gotta be proud about that!
