New kitchen tool first impression

The coating on my KitchenAid flat beater is chipping off, so I decided to replace the beater. I recently picked up a Beater Blade+. Not having to scrap down the sides, which I always have to do, sounded just dreamy. I’m making some molasses bread and with most of my breads, I usually beat for a little bit with the flat beater until I’ve added enough flour that the dough is thick enough for the hook. I just finished doing that, and it was fabulous! It scrapped the sides as it mixed wonderfully!

I’m going to be mixing up some apple cake after the bread. I’ll report after I make a thicker dough–like cookies. I would say, if you have to replace your beater, go for this one. Or, if you bake a lot and have the cash, definitely pick this up.

A good note about this beater, which I’m glad I caught before I bought one. I have a KitchenAid Professional 5 Plus. It is a 5-quart bowl-lift. You have to buy the blade beater for the 6-quart KitchenAid 600 to fit the 5 Plus. It isn’t really clear, and if you buy the one that is labeled to fit most 5-quart mixers, the Professional 5 Plus is one of those that it doesn’t fit.
