Yearly Faire Trip
We are going to Ren Fest on Saturday. We obtained a babysitter for this year. Not having to keep track of two young children will make it a tad more fun. I’m sure in 2-3 years, it will be a lot easier to take the kids.
I’ve been going since sometime in the mid-90s. I know it isn’t as long as some, but I only go once a year now because it just doesn’t seem as fun as it used to be back then. It has changed or I have changed. Perhaps it is because I’m not and never have been a playtron. I have no performer desires at all. I’m more of an ignore-the-person-behind-the-curtain person. It is tempting to put Mac in a convincing Dr. Who costume. If I’ve had enough to drink, I would also possibly deck out in full Stargate gear. I do try to be nice and not call those I know by their real names, but I mostly hang back from interacting beyond a quick hello. It’s not you. It’s me.
I will bring my camera this time since I’m not hauling around children.
