Day at the lake

I had no desire to spend the day at home today. Breakfast out was, eh. We should have waited at First Watch. We are due for a brunch at Maceli’s. It has been awhile–May, I think.

We spent some time outside riding bikes after arriving home. I knew this activity wouldn’t entertain them for hours, so I picked my brain on where we could go, and I decided on the lake. Why not? The weather was perfect. No boating for us, though. We went to Clinton and spent some time at the swim beach. Then we went to the overlook area and walked on a trail. Lots of butterflies and flowers and no allergy attacks, thanks Claritin! Our turn around point was when Jay decided he wanted to be carried. Ada had lots of fun swimming in the lake. Jay, not so much. He’s just like his father. Being outdoors just isn’t his thing. Next time he can stay at home with daddy.

I drove them over the dam on the way home. Then we wound our way back to Lawrence, picked up dinner, ate, bathed, made popcorn, and put in a movie. That movie is just now scrolling the credits. Time for bed! I’m even too tired to go clean the sand out of the back of the suvvy. Tomorrow.
