How did food get clear over there?

The title of this post is the theme to cleaning my kitchen. Really. By looking at my kitchen, you’d think that dinner was way more fun and exciting than it really is.

My accomplishments for today:

  • Paperwork filled out
  • Required notarization done
  • Health assessment dropped off at doctor office
  • Dishwasher pump replaced–I only needed to be around and trip the breaker.
  • Walls in my living room, hallway, front door and kitchen cleaned. Yes, I scrubbed the walls. This is the source for my questioning how food travels from the table to places that normally do not hold food.
  • Kitchen floor mopped.
  • Kitchen cabinet doors cleaned since I was doing the walls and had the cleaner and rag.
  • Focaccia on the rise for dinner.
  • Cleaned the end tables
  • Organized living room–although I’m not happy with it. I need help figuring out how to tetris all of my stuff into this room.

I just need to make and clean up dinner and then clean out the fridge since tomorrow is trash day.

I picked up Method wood cleaner the last time I needed some. I was leery about the almond smell, but I bought it anyhow without opening one to test it. I really didn’t want my wood to smell like a bag of almonds* , but I figured it wouldn’t last long. It ended up smelling like amaretto! It’s wonderful! They need to change the bottle to say it smells like almond liqueur. That’s what my end tables smell like right now. Now I want an amaretto sour.

Tomorrow I’m taking Ada to KC with me for a search for shoes. I need to clean the counter tops and appliances in the kitchen and the bathrooms. It should be a light day as far as house chores go.

My next big chore is painting. I have some projects that need to be finished. I have touch ups on the walls where someone in our house decided to write on the wall with ink. I have scuff marks from chairs that aren’t coming out with cleaning. And the kids bathroom which has never been painted since we moved in. It still has that strange wallpaper** and toothpaste green paint.

*Insert snicker here

**Which also has some hand drawn ink artwork by the same artist that did the rest of the walls.
