Today’s Update
The new hard drive for my laptop is in. I’m going from 120GB to 500GB. Yes, I have almost run out of space multiple times, but with multiple VMs, development programs, general use programs, music and video podcasts, it isn’t as surprising as you would think.
I didn’t get much household work done today aside from washing all the dishes. The repairman for our dishwasher comes tomorrow. Ada and I went out, and then I took her out for some playtime. While we were out, I picked her up an apron sized for her. She’s been wearing it since we got home. It came in useful when she helped me with dishes and corn for dinner.
This is my very first full week at home unemployed. I have to go to KC tomorrow morning for a meeting for a benefit that came with my severance, and I have a meeting Wednesday morning for Jay, but other than that, free and clear. I need to find some activities for Ada during the day.
I also want to start being diligent about my weekly menu. Not that it doesn’t end up changing at least once, I’d like to at least have some plan rather than winging it every night. Here is what I have planned so far for this week:
Monday: Hobo Burgers and corn on the cob — It is corn season! I picked some up at the farmer’s market on Saturday. It is on the grill right now.
Tuesday: Cowgirl grillers and grilled squash — the squash was also from the farmer’s market.
Wednesday: Homemade pizza and probably leftover squash. Or squash on the pizza. I’ll probably make one grilled vege pizza and one pepperoni.
I also have blueberries, blackberries (farmer’s market!) and pineapple to use. I have a rum butter grilled pineapple recipe that I would like to try.
