What a wonderful day!

My morning started off by me waking up saying, “Did I just hear the door open?” I looked out the window to see Ada running around in the back yard wearing just panties and sandals. She really does like playing outside.

I brought her back in and we got ready to head to the Farmer’s Market. We were almost too late. I bought the last bagel. Well, we were too late for the rest of the family. It was a lemon ginger bagel, and hence, automatically mine. Since we didn’t have breakfast to bring home, I called Mac and told him to feed Jay some muffins I had yesterday because Ada and I were going out to eat breakfast. Since we were on Mass anyhow, we went to Ada’s Happiest Place On Earth–The Toy Store. We spent a little over an hour in there. It is also hard to not come out with something. I ended up with 5 books for the kids; a present for a friends’ kid; a play stand mixer for Ada–it has a paddle and whisk attachment, but no dough hook; a duck bathtub toy for Jay–one of those that will swim around for a bit.

After that, we took a trip to Target. We found Hello Kitty socks in the $1 bins. And Hello Kitty sandals. And a Hello Kitty bag. And a Hello Kitty t-shirt. You get the point.

Mac didn’t feel like coming out with Jay since he started cleaning the garage, so we ran the chicken home and then headed back out for lunch–Mexican. We had a really good waiter. I appreciate wait staff who treat and talk to my children like people without talking down to them. Those are the kind who get generous tips.

Afterwords, we did a tiny bit of driving around and then headed home. The entire day out with her, she didn’t cry about anything or yell or have any sort of meltdown at all. She had a few, “you are not listening to me” moments at Target, but nothing outside of any 4-year old. It was fabulous! And except for lunch, we ran into someone we knew everywhere we went.

Now that we are home, Ada and Jay are fighting over the toys–back to normal life. It was fantastic while it lasted even though our day out left me exhausted and not able to take a nap since Mac is still cleaning out the garage. Ada finally gave up on being the queen of the stand mixer and went outside which gave Jay an opportunity to mix together Funions.

I’ve read this a couple of times now, and do not see where you bought chicken. Are you starting to talk like L?
