Only 313 days left until Jay turns 3
James woke up around 12:30am this morning for the purpose of coming in our room and punching us in the face.
Okay, exaggerated a bit, but he did come walking into our room crying. He wouldn’t come over to my side of the bed, but Mac woke up and picked him up to sleep with us. He then repeatedly kept smacking Mac, and when he tried to put him between us, he turned sideways and pummeled me in the ribs with his feet. Since he was being completely disagreeable, Mac picked him up and put him back into his bed. He fell right back to sleep.
I have no idea what was up with that episode, but he is way worse in his two-ness than Ada was.
The best thing I’ve come up with for a 2 year old who wants to sleep with us is to tell them no. If he won’t stay in his room without encouragement, turn the lock around and lock him in. The good thing about 2 year olds is that they are infinitely trainable. Wishing you uninterrupted sleep tonight!
