The coffee pot could break. There is nothing like grabbing the carafe and having the stopper and the spring that controls the stopper pop out and hit you in the chest*.

An electrician came yesterday and fixed our hallway/kids’ room problem. The root cause was faulty wiring in an outlet in the kids’ room. Thank goodness all it did was just cause us to not have electricity for a bit instead of, you know, start a fire. The electrician replaced the and rewired the outlet.
*As long as a plastic piece didn’t snap off, it should be fixable. I haven’t looked yet. I just poured my coffee and moved on.
