Day 186: The easy decisions are the ones made for you
Ada decided to give herself a haircut tonight. My decision on whether to cut her hair short and give her bangs is now a pretty easy one to make. She goes in on Wednesday morning with James. No matter how I brush it, those wispy hairs in the front are always in her face. Clips don’t stay in her baby fine hair, headbands don’t stay in her baby fine hair. Really tight ponytails are the best I can do, and some of it still falls out and in her face. I’m not fond of bangs, but I’d really like to see Ada’s face.
Mac had a really bad time last night with his ear with the pain getting even worse and he started feeling weird. It ended up with a trip to the ER, and the kids not settling into bed until after 2:00am since I had to take them with us. They gave Mac much stronger pain medication than Tylenol and then put something in his ear to help the ear drop antibiotics fight the infection that has moved from his inner ear to his middle ear. Hopefully the oral and ear drop antibiotics will start to work soon. He’s been on them since Friday, but is seems to only be getting worse.

I’m so sorry Mac’s ear isn’t getting any better. I know this is weird, but I’ve started putting hydrogen peroxide in my ear to clear out some issues with stuff in my ears making me dizzy. It feels beyond weird, but it’s something safe, cheap, and easy he might try. Have him ask the pharmacist if it will interfere with the drop antibiotics.
We already do that with our ears. The formula the ear, nose and throat doc gave us was hydrogen peroxide, apple cider vinegar and water.
He has an appointment this afternoon with another en&t doctor. His usual doc gets in Mac’s ear with a saline solution to clean it out. However, since it is infected, I’m not sure what he can do except to see if the antibiotics are working at all. Mac can no longer hear out of that ear, so I hope they can do something.
