I’m glad the day is over
It wasn’t a bad day, but I’ve had a bad headache all day and munching on Tylenol hasn’t helped. Now that it is finally over, I’m going to rest.
I got my hair trimmed up and styled a tad differently in the back. My SIL did my color which needed it badly. I still love having my hair short. I’m not sure if I’ll ever wear it long again.
I went to Whole Foods right after the hair since I brought a cooler with ice for the dinner I made for friends. I ended up buying a container of berries so I had something to eat. I munched on them in the car while making the rest of my errands.
I finally made it to Penzey’s. I splurged and got some saffron. I also got some small bottles of a variety of spices.
Afterwards I ran some more errands for friends and then headed to the mall. I didn’t have much time left, and my head was pounding at this point of my trip. I made a whirlwind walk through, and I found one thing to wear to work and one pair of jeans. Not much, but better than what I had before. I need shopping help. I spend too much time wandering and talking myself out of stuff than I do getting clothes. And I still need petites for dresses and skirts. Or a personal seamstress to take everything up for me. It is easier to just be able to buy things the correct length, but I think I’d have to grow a few inches to be able to do that.
So, it wasn’t a bad day, but I’m exhausted and headachy and I’m glad that it is now time to curl up with my pillow.
When I was working I got most of my work wardrobe from Ann Taylor or AT Loft. They have nice petites, and you can always find something reasonable on the sale racks. Harold’s and Banana Republic offer free alterations on any regular priced merchandise. I bought a sewing machine to hem my pants and made the $$ back after 3-4 pairs (this was years ago), and also have a tailor that I know does good work on file. I did most of my work shopping at Leawood Town Center since it was about a 2 minute drive from B&V. Also, I love Gap’s petite jeans which are only available online.
There is an Ann Taylor at the Legends. I’m going to have to stop there on my way home from work some day.
I almost went to Town Center and then changed my mind and headed to Oak Park.
