Good ideas/Bad ideas (AKA-I’m hungry)
Did fondue ever become un-popular? I know when I was in high school, which was not in the 70s, there was a group of us that would eat fondue. It was the thing to do. I’d like to think that we were ahead of the times, but in my small town, I’d bet on us being behind it. Fondue was the only food thing that I can think of besides Dorothy Lynch salad dressing, which I guess was the cool dressing, but eh, I don’t care for it. Oh, and watching Jane Fonda workout videos while we ate Fudge Covered Oreos. We’d also drink soda throughout the day, and break was the time for M&Ms. Good thing that was a time in my life when my metabolism made it easy for me to stay thin. Egads, if I lived off that crap now, I’d look like I did when I was pregnant.
That post in my RSS feeds made me hungry for fondue. I haven’t gone to The Melting Pot for over a year. I don’t have a fondue pot either, but maybe I should get one. One of the tactics that works in getting Ada to the table to eat is finding something for her to dip her food in. Fondue is a meal made just for Ada. And the little forks are perfect for … her to gouge out an eye of the person she becomes displeased with. Hmm…rethinking the fondue idea.
Here is one more food mention. IHOP has finally gone insane.
Does that mean were going to IHOP before the parade on Sunday?
Haven behind the times? Surely you jest… And I almost threw up just thinking about those pancakes.
