Day 99: Rock Chalk, Jayhawk!!!!

That 3-pointer? I fell down. Really. On the floor.

We just got back from Mass. Bringing my camera lingered in my mind, and I regret not bringing it a little bit, and don’t regret not bringing it even more. I was squished inbetween people. People with beer. Mac brought his new small video camera though.

I high-fived half of Lawrence. People were dancing. People were chanting. People were playing music. Everyone was being nice. There were lots of cars that were parked on Mass. Some of those cars now have big dents on top of them and shattered windshields. I’m glad that I don’t have to clean-up downtown.

We parked on campus, lucky enough to get one of the few available spots in the garage. There were lots of cops standing around campus, watching buildings and important statues. The largest amount of cops were standing in front of Wescoe. Wescoe! It made me giggle and say, “Don’t worry Lydia. They are protecting your precious building!” We drove through campus again on the way home. There were no cops, only a few strangling people walking around, and no visible damage to campus.

Classes at KU are canceled tomorrow, and I’m taking the day off to celebrate with Lawrence. I’m trying to decide whether I’m going to Memorial Stadium tomorrow. And t-shirts. I’ll have to scour this town for t-shirts.

Yes, I was ever so grateful that my beloved building was still standing. You cannot imagine my relief.

…although, seriously, I would be really pissed off if someone burned it down and I lost all my student files and the personal artwork I have on the walls of my office. I forgot to look to see if the trees out front were still standing.

Man… you flat-landers are really serious about basketball!

We Jayhawks *love* our basketball! It has a 110 year history of win! Well, there was one losing season by coach Naismith, so we’ve had a 109 years of win and 1 year of losing.

There were about 40,000 people on Mass street after the game.

Great for KU and I am glad you guys had fun but two of my clients skipped out on appts. today. One had bronchitis and the other just didn’t feel good (damn drinkin’ b-ball fans). :-)
