Others jumping on the Blu-ray bandwagon
Besides the rumor of Target phasing out the HD-DVD format in favor of Blu-ray, Netflix sent customers with HD-DVD capabilites designated in their profile an e-mail today stating that they are phasing out HD-DVDs–meaning that they will no longer purchase any new inventory of HD-DVDs and they will not replace their current stock either. Also in the rumor mill is that Best Buy is pushing Blu-ray now over HD-DVD, but it isn’t clear on if they are phasing out HD-DVDs or if they are just instructing their sales staff to push selling Blu-ray over HD-DVDs.
