Day 3: Bouncing the flash
I decided to spend some time reading the interwebs to find a solution to my low light other than always shooting at f/2.8 and still ending up with long exposures. That means I usually end up with one good photo and like 60 blurry ones when I’m taking pictures of the kiddos. The one I found was using a white business card to bounce the light from the built in flash upwards. So I took some photos with the built in flash (the photo on the left) and then took some with the built in flash and the business card (the one on the right). I have now added white business cards (thanks, Mac, for letting me dip into your supply!) to my camera bag. The next couple of days will be me playing with this technique. Then I will try one other trick for just diffusing the built in flash to see the results.
