A father carries pictures where his money used to be.
Today is the kick off to Father’s Day weekend. I tried to keep things
as quiet as possible so he could sleep in. I made him breakfast. I’ve
been doing laundry, but I do that anyhow, so I guess that isn’t a
Father’s Day Weekend gift. Mac then tells me he wants to go run some
errands…and take the kids with him. He gathered all their stuff while
I feed James. He packed Ada into to the car while I changed James’ diaper
and clothes, and then off they went, leaving mom to kick back in a
silent, kid-free home.
This is the best Father’s Day Weekend ever.
Okay,
I’m waiting on one load to dry, and then I’m putting up laundry and
then will head out into the heat to mow the lawn. It is a chore that
Mac has done so far this mowing season even though I offer to help.
Although, it has been raining enough that our back yard is tall enough
to put some dread into this chore.
Oh, I did surrender my Best Buy gift card that I had in my wallet. And those who know me, know that is a big Father’s Day gift!
We
talked about taking the kiddos to the drive-in here soon in the hopes
that the late start means they will just fall asleep through most of
it. It is the only way we are going to get out to see a movie because
kids crying only cry for us at the drive-in.
Okay, laundry is ready to be put away.
