Money woes
Gas: It has gone up to over $3/gallon here. It always goes up over Labor Day weekend, so I’m going to take the two cars out and fill up today. Except for going to daycare to pick up Ada when I work from home, the SUV and convertible don’t get a lot of driving time, but I might as well give them a full tank in case gas gets up to the $4/gallon predicted price.
We don’t have any plans to cancel our trip this weekend though. Even though it is a tight fit, and I have to sit close to the dash to get Ada’s carseat in the back, we will be taking the Saturn this weekend.
Paycheck: With the added daycare costs and the yet again increased medical insurance costs, I bring home less and less money every year. I wouldn’t mind keeping my job, especially since my team is the one the business is focusing on to cut costs by making things more automated. However, I’m tired of losing money every year doing my job. I also like the work from home schedule. It seems though that if you want to get a substantial raise, you have to jump ship and change jobs. I just wish the Lawrence job economy didn’t suck so bad for my line of work.
