A change came o’er the spirit of my dream
I found out yesterday evening when I logged into work to check e-mail that once again, IT was re-aligned. This is not new. We just went through this right before I left. I have yet another new boss, or rather, a different boss. This person was my boss when I first went to work for this company. I’ll be positive and tell my happy thoughts about this: two people who focus on interface design and html are now on our team after asking and asking for them ever since I’ve worked there. That means that I don’t have to do that anymore, hopefully. Yippee!!!
Okay, now the negative. This boss is a notorious hard-ass when it comes to the working environment. He would not give on flexible hours when I worked for him before. If I get my work from home schedule taken away from me, I will be mighty unhappy. If he makes us move to Raytown to be with the rest of his team, I’ll be even more mighty unhappy. Compound that with boring projects, not seeing a raise that has kept up with increasing expenses and cost of benefits, and not getting a promotion because I’m required to perform tasks that others with the same title and way more pay do not have to do, I’m not sure why I would want to stay with this job. Perhaps it will be time to do some job hunting, even though I hate job hunting and hate interviewing. Hate it.
It is a beautiful 84F outside right now. Perhaps I will go sit on my deck for a bit and then try to get some sleep. Later today I will be hopefully attending a viewing of The Island–the current Ewan McGregor movie that opened this weekend. From the previews, I’m getting a Logan’s Run with corny dialog feel from it, but it’s Ewan, so I will go and clap with glee.
