Ada milestones: She must of had some kind of mega-growth spurt recently because I got up this morning (after a whopping 2 hours of sleep) and she just looked bigger–especially her face and legs. I did go up a size in diapers, although they look big on her they don’t leak. That is good because I went out to get more last night. They were on sale and there wasn’t a single package of newborn in the entire store. She isn’t having any problems with her skin and disposables, but I’m still thinking of getting some cloth. I can’t use them for daycare, but it would be nice to have around home. My only issues are having even more chores to do in the washing of diapers, and the fact that there are so freakin’ many different kinds it sort of makes your head spin.

She is getting even better at head control and I got her in her Mei Tai tonight with only a short period of fussing. That is good because I was able to get some laundry done, do a load of dishes, take out trash, make a banana smoothie, and type this update with two hands. Now, I can probably venture out during the day. I have plans next week to head into KC because my co-workers have something for me and they want to see Ada. She is looking at me more and having some longer periods of being awake, but she still pretty much just uses me for food and I’m craving being around adults.

Me: Still healing, still sore, but when I went to Target last night I was able to walk at normal speed for almost the whole trip. It was easier to get out of the car too. My newest pain is my developing sore throat, ear ache and cough. Egads, it hurts to cough. Plus, I don’t need to get sick, and Ada really doesn’t need to get sick.

Food: I haven’t weighed myself lately, but my weight loss did level out after losing the baby weight. I would think that I have to be losing because I don’t have time to eat anything that I can’t just grab. So during the day I have been living off of strawberries, pinapple, pears, sugar-free strawberry jello, grapes, and now banana smoothies thanks to the Mei Tai. Fruit is the easiest for me, and I’m still taking my vitamins, but I’m not eating much else than fruit. I need to make some vege soup that I can warm up. I haven’t even really felt hungry anyhow–tiredness is beating everything else out. Ada was agreeable enough today with laying on her activity blanket so I had time to scarf down some leftover Vermont St BBQ.

Toys: We are geting another laptop for me to use at home. We are going to turn my desktop which is hooked up to our tv into a media supercenter. I’m getting an Alienware Area-51m 7700.

More Money Spending: The bills are pouring in. It cost almost $5000 for my hospital stay and $1800 for Ada’s care. It also cost almost $900 for her emergency room trip. My insurance company, even though it is part of my maternity care and I’ve added Ada onto my insurance, has denied her claims saying that she isn’t covered under my insurance. So, now I get to fight the insurance company because the hospital wants the full $2700 for her care. Grrr…I hate having to clear up insurance mistakes.

Well, it seems as if my hands-free time is over for the moment. Somebody is stirring.
