Small Update
I’ve gotten 5 hours of sleep the last two nights. The longest stretch I got to sleep in the hospital was 3 hours. There are times when I cannot focus my eyes anymore because I’m so tired, and times when I think that I’m hallucinating, probably because of the Demerol and the tired.
Ada had her first doctor appointment today at 5 days old. She now weighs 6lbs 12oz, up from 6lbs 2oz when released from the hospital. She is 19.75 inches long as opposed the 19 inches at birth.
Tess, Dawn and Nate came over so we could play boyfriend and girlfriend with Nate and Ada.
I have tons of e-mail sitting in my Inbox. I’ll get to them, um, who knows when. I’ll probably just put small updates here. I have to take sleep when the opportunity comes.
Oh, big accomplishment for me today! I can get up off the sofa by myself with only a little “ooohing” and the help of Ada’s bassinet. I can walk around the house without needing Mac as my guide. It is a slow, limpy walk, but I’m doing it again all on my own. I’ve also been able to knock the Demerol from 2 to 1 every 4 hours. Wahoo!
I’m waiting for the day that I can once again lie down on my side and flat on my back to sleep without any pain. That will be an exciting day indeed.
