This morning was fun driving through downtown KC trying to dodge all the flower delivery trucks blocking traffic. My favorite was the big guy delivering flowers with his pants falling down. Nothing says “I love you” more than getting flowers from a big guy with half of his hairy ass showing.

I woke up this morning to a VD present on my kitchen table. Chocolate and a super-soft monkey–two presents that can never be wrong when I’m involved. I also go three other wonderful surprises.

Fantasia Mathematica - A collection of stories and poems all with math as a theme. When I can’t sleep, I’m always asking Mac to tell me a story. He says he doesn’t know any, although he will make some up sometimes that leave me laughing. Now he says he can just grab this book and read me a story.

How To Teach Your Baby Math - A book about a method to teach your baby the concepts of math without needing the concept of numbers. He got this for me because he knew I would probably be trying to teach Ada math early on.

And the best yet because he remembered that I wanted one of these really badly for Valentine’s Day last year (warning, you may not like the language): a teddy bear*. I was completely shocked that he remembered this. I never even talked about this bear since we’ve been together.

I haven’t had a Valentine’s Day in a long time that has been really special**. This one has been spectacular so far, and it isn’t the physical items that I received, but the fact that Mac went out of his way to get me something that he knew I would enjoy, regardless of how he may feel about the holiday or the items. That is something I haven’t had in a long, long time. He’s the best ever!

I do have a gift for him, but he doesn’t get it until after work. Since he may read this if he gets a small break*** during the day, I won’t post what it is here.

Now, here is your yearly Stuology VD greetings from my favorite VD greeting card makers.

**There was one year when 0verdrive, Rorschach and his brother, A, made dinner for me, ChernobylRed, Rorscach’s wife A, and A’s soon to be wife L. It was a really good dinner, too. It was wonderful evening, and the fact that my SO didn’t bother to show up to help, but just to eat didn’t spoil the dinner. I really appreciated the effort of the other three guys.

***He’s been swamped during the day with his new job, hence the online silence from him.
