I’m back from my Mother’s Day weekend visiting my family. We celebrated Mother’s Day yesterday. My mother and I started out the day by doing absolutely nothing. We just sat around being lazy. Eventually we headed out to go spend money and get groceries for the Mother’s Day BBQ.

We were joined by my sister, Madisyn, and Connor. I manned the grill with Madisyn and Connor while playing a mad-capped game of Ring Around The Rosies; Let’s Stick Leaves And Flowers In Aunt Mel’s Hair; Let’s Take Out The Leaves And Flowers And Bury Them In The Dirt; Let’s Cry Because Mom Yelled At Us To Stay Out Of The Dirt; and As Soon As Mom Goes Inside, Aunt Mel Will Let You Get In The Dirt Again*. At least this time, nobody ate any of the dirt.

As soon as dinner was over**, I headed down stairs with the kids*** to play ball with Connor and watch Toonami with Madisyn. Then I shared a bowl of ice cream with Connor****. My sister and the kids went home, and we watched Love Actually.

I had some nice relaxing family time.

*Which meant I got to play the game Aunt Mel Gets To Be The One To Clean Up The Kids For Dinner.

**There were more exciting games here too, like Count The Pickels and Immitate Everything Aunt Mel Does.

***Anything to get out of the game Aunt Mel Cleans Up The Kitchen

****The game for this one was Plead With Your Big Blue Eyes For A Bite And Because Aunt Mel Is A Sucker, She Will Give You One But Only If She Gets A Kiss But Please Wait Until You Swallow The Ice Cream–Okay, Nevermind, Too Late. This game left me as sticky as Connor was.
